Comments: We wanted to replace old carpeting with wood floors in two small rooms on our first floor and called Chicagoland Flooring for an estimate. He came immediately and gave us an estimate for both refinishing the original floors that were underneath (something he encouraged for their potential beauty and to save us money), and if not possible, for creating new sub-flooring and building and staining new wood floors. The manager is very knowledgeable and works hard to set clear expectations before the job, and encouraged us to ask a lot of questions. We did, and we hired him to come do the job a month later. Because we didn't know if the old floors would work, we pulled up the carpeting ourselves in one room and we discovered we could not use the existing pine floor. We let him know before he started. Chicagoland Flooring team worked very hard, and were charming. The owner gave us clear expectations at each step. When it came to choosing the stain, he went so far as to paint 5-6 different samples on the new floor to help us decide. The team also put in one piece of maple (not planned) for where the new oak threshold and our older maple kitchen floor met. The owner made sure we were satisfied, gave us extensive instruction on how to clean the floors. Overall, we are very satisfied and grateful for the good job they did. It's clear Chicagoland Flooring only wants happy customers and we are.

Comments: The owner of Chicagoland Flooring came on time on a very snowy day in Chicago to give me a quote on refinishing about 650 square feet of wood flooring. He was very knowledgeable and patient with me, he explained the process in detail. He even took an interest in other problem areas of my new home that were worrying me. He followed up well on every step of the process. Overall, I do recommend this company. They take pride in their knowledge of wood and wood refinishing.

In one word, Great! The owner came to the house and gave me a thorough evaluation of the best way to handle transitions to other areas of flooring and replacement of areas that were damaged. Chicagoland Flooring did a great job. You can't even tell that boards were missing. The floors are beautiful! They were very polite, cleaned up after themselves, were on time and did quality work. What else could you ask for? On top of all that, they use environmentally friendly sealants and dustless sanding.

Comments: This company was extremely pleasant to deal with and professional from start to finish. The owner responded quickly and communicated by email (which is a big plus) with general information about the costs and process. The workers were likewise pleasant and professional and the job was done exactly when it was scheduled, despite the fact that they had little notice and we had a tight deadline before we had to move furniture in the house. The owner left us some floor cleaning solution after the job was completed. All in all the floors look beautiful and it was a great experience.

Comments: Sanded, stained and applied three coats of finish on red oak flooring, came back without question next day to redo a bit that was not quite right.
The owner is a very pleasant, trustworthy and efficient operator (and quite a taker!), prompt with appointment quotes and responses to questions. He was very helpful with suggestions for finishes and stain colors. His team was no less encouraging to work with all were very patient, explaining the process in detail how and why colors would change as they dried and running several test in situ for us to choose colors. Although they said they wouldn't in the contract they helped move 3 heavy chests prior to work start. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again indeed I will when our kitchen is remodeled come summer.  This is a messy process but you should only do I very rarely so the extra effort is worth it. Unless you are only doing a small area definitely move out for the duration.
